I always wanted to try yoga. I have found it to be an excellent exercise for both body and mind. After a relatively short time of regular weekly attendance, my flexibility and core strength were noticeably increased and I have learned a number of meditation and mindfulness techniques I can use outside the physical practice and at any time of the day. Rolande’s classes allow me to decide my own pace. A friendly and relaxed environment that is equally supportive for all ages, shapes and sizes – from the beginner to the more advanced and adventurous.
If I don’t come I think I would seize up completely!
I come to make sure Matthew doesn’t seize up completely!
I joined Tuesday’s yoga class expecting it to be an easy stretch session – it’s actually quite a workout and ideal for cyclists and runners who want to improve their flexibility. Highly recommended!
I came to yoga to help recover from my hip replacement. Rolande was welcoming and supportive and her instruction was clear and relaxing. She has a fabulous balance of encouragement and sense of fun. I really look forward to the classes and her style of teaching. I’ve been with her for 4 years and find her classes stimulating and helpful: she’s helped to keep me mobile and reduced my stiffness and pain.
The Vinyasa class is amazing! Challenging and energetic, it’s the perfect progression class and ideal for those who want something a little more active.
… to improve flexibility and suppleness. The difference in my overall body strength is amazing. The deep relaxation the end is also amazing!
Liked the focus on breathing; excellent flows and combinations; three new challenging poses and silent practice. Cakes outstanding. Thanks for an excellent session.
I’ve been going to Rolande’s classes for a few years now… She allows adaptations if you have any restrictions and that has been hugely beneficial to me. I recently had spinal surgery (8” of metal) and her classes have been such a help to me. She helped me achieve movements to suit my new body starting off in gentle class. The classes have kept me mobile and now I’m gaining more strength. It’s been a long process in my recovery at a pace I feel comfortable with.
Loved the whole experience: venue, location, sessions… hugely relaxing… fabulous introduction to a yoga retreat. The balance of styles between Rolande and Rose complement each other… winning formula.
I have found yoga with Rolande a little pocket of delight… somewhere I can connect with my body and breathe into the deep movement of the flows and poses. It can be as strong or challenging as I want it to be. The relationships I have built in yoga are fun and supportive. A nurturing and a healthy place to be for a couple of hours a week.
… well taught and a good balance of theory and practice. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, found it enlightening and want to learn more.
I haven’t visited an osteopath since starting Rolande’s yoga classes.
The sound healing was an almost spiritual experience in which I felt totally absorbed.”
“The singing bowl (on my abdomen) was amazing, I left really relaxed.
Never thought I could do this class but with Rolande’s teaching I’m getting there. Very energising, strengthening, strong poses – totally rewarding body and mind.
I always feel so much better on the way out than I do on the way in! It’s the power of positive thinking!
Enjoyed the whole weekend. Accommodation was lovely, warm, relaxing and food excellent… a gem. Loved the way you both coordinated to move us upwards through the chakras.
I have scoliosis and am amazed at how my neck is less stiff and I can see my toes! Rolande provides expert, tuition in a relaxed atmosphere .
It keeps me sane… can’t imagine life / being without it.
…to maintain muscle capacity, core strength & balance – especially after surgery last year. I also love the holistic mind & body elements/sessions. Rolande reminds me that yoga is not just for young, supple and flexible people!
Why do I come to yoga? To maintain focus in all aspects of life, plus flexibility and calm
Rolande’s manner is charming. She doesn’t take herself too seriously… which puts everyone at their ease. Her classes are fun and have increased my strength and flexibility… by stealth!
I come to maintain my flexibility now I’ve reached the third age of life.
I enjoyed the mix of chanting, meditation and postures. I also liked learning about a different aspect of yoga… interested in learning more. Thank-you for the food / refreshments too!
I am in my late 60’s and was recommended to try yoga two years ago by an osteopath to help with my arthritis. From being quite active, my movement had become quite limited and painful because of an arthritic knee. At first I found it quite hard to remember the movements but gradually I got the idea and have found my balance and suppleness greatly improved. With improved posture and balance my knee is much better too and relatively pain free. I thoroughly recommend Rolande’s classes which cater for a full range of fitness and ability.
Liked learning about my ‘Dosha type’ through the questionnaire/discussion. Big subject!
We came to improve flexibility and strength as well as staving off the ravages of old age! Rolande encourages us to stretch a little further every session, both in body and mind.
With having hip issues from birth Yoga gives me the desire to improve my posture and flexibility. This class is fun, relaxed and has made me fall in love with the yogic journey we go through in a session.
Programme was excellent, had a purpose which was meaningful and thought provoking for me. Thank you for helping me explore the joy of yoga once again.
